My father Serhiy, like his father Heorhiy, was involved in the creation of the feature film "Études about Vrubel" (1989), for which it was necessary to make copies of the works of the artist Mykhail Vrubel, which are stored in the Kyiv Art Gallery. Creating a copy is a painstaking and long process, hundreds of hours of study, observation and deep insight into the manner and technique of the author. I remember how delighted my father was to work on the works of Mykhail Vrubel.

"Eastern Fairy Tale" and "Angel with Incense and Candle". These works of Vrubel have rather small dimensions, namely 27 by 27 cm and 69 by 26 cm.

The creative idea of Serhiy Verbicki was to show the viewer what he saw in the depth of these works, while working for hours on creating copies, but to show in his own manner and the author's technique of watercolor monotype in a large, significantly increased size.

Now in the family collection there are three versions of works based on Vrubel's motifs "Angel with Incense and Candle" and one work "Eastern Fairy Tale" made in the watercolor monotype technique by Sehiy (senior) Verbicki.
